Vacuum Gauges - Brass Internals - Centre Back Connection - 30/0" hg & -1/0 bar vacuum

Case =  Type 304 Stainless steel and plated steel

Window = Polycarbonate

Internals = Brass

Temp range = -20° to +60°C

Filling =

FDA Approved food grade glycerine

For the measurement of fluid liquids that are not:- highly viscous, high temperature (over 60°C), likely to solidify/crystallize or corrosive to copper or tin alloys.   Also suitable for gases (except oxiding gases such as oxygen or acetylene) up to 25 bar maximum.

Glycerine filled gauges are particularly suited to applications where oscillating/surging pressures or vibration are present.   The damping effect of the glycerine will steady the pointer making it easier to take a reading against the scale.

Description

Check your pipe threads before you order!

In Great Britain BSP British Standard Pipe threads are commonly used. These are either parallel (BSPP) which normally seal on a washer or 'O' ring seal, or tapered (BSPT) which taper along their length and normally seal by two mating threads and/ or tape.

How to measure your thread:

Use a tape rule or (vernier gauge) to measure across the outside of the male thread. Note that a thread that measures 0.5" is not 1/2" BSP thread!

Using the table below we can see that 0.5" is actually 1/4" BSP thread. Similarly, a thread that measures 1.0" is actually 3/4" BSP thread.
