Rare acid etched glass paste (pate de verre grave a l'acide - French) vase marked "Nancy Daum Tip" with green grapes branch decor. This beautiful 20th century vase made in Europe as a copy and in the manner of famous French Nancy Daum vase. Vase has cameo acid engraved decoration depicting green grapes & leaves on the branch. There is a small mark "tip" on the other side that means that the vase is officially registered as a copy.

Pâte de verre is a form of kiln casting and literally translated "glass paste". In this process finely crushed glass is mixed with a binding material such as a mixture of gum arabic and water, and often with colorants and enamels. The resultant paste is applied to the inner surface of a negative mold forming a coating. When the coated mold is fired at the appropriate temperature the glass is fused creating a hollow object that can have thick or thin walls depending on the thickness of the pate de verre layers.

Daum, a French commercial crystal manufacturer, produced highly sculptural pieces in pate de verre. This vase is an example of good quality copy (repro). Some pictures are made with the lamp above the vase to show beautiful cameo relief decor (please note, this is not uranium glass)
