Antique Hill’s Practical Reference Library of General Knowledge, Volume 1, Chicago, Illinois, Dixon, Hanson and Co., 1905. Copyright 1904. Edited by L. Brett Vaughn. ‘Fully Illustrated with Lithographs, Engravings, and Historical, Political, and Physical Maps”. Lots of illustrations including color illustrations of the ‘Types of African Races’, the ‘Types of Asiatic Races’, the ‘Types of American Indians’, the ‘Types of Australian Races’, fruits, butterflies, bird eggs, maps. Many black and white illustrations. Very nice vintage Preowned condition that shows some wear on the cover. There is some bumping on the corners and spine ends, some soiling on the cloth, wear on the leather. The binding is tight. The pages are in excellent condition with expected yellowing from age. They have no marks, stains, spots, creases, or rips that I saw. Some of the tissue separators on the color photos are creased. The book measures 9-1/2” x 6-5/8” x 2" and weighs approximately 4 lbs, 7 oz. This is Volume one of a four volume set.
