HANS REINER WOODEN FLUTE WITH CLOSED-HOLE, SPLIT E and C-FOOT - VERY RARE WITH REFORM HEAD

Hans Reiner is a world renowned flute and piccolo maker. Born in Schöneck in Germany, he was the son of flutemaker and went on to hone his skills with Philipp Hammig in Markneukirchen. He started his own company in 1936 and went on to produce some of world's finest piccolos. He also produced a much smaller number of flutes, some with metal heads and Bakerlite lip plates and some with wooden heads. This Hans Reiner wooden flute is one of those models with the wooden head and is a rare find.

There is the Hans Reiner emblem and inscription on all pieces. The keywork is likely German silver, although could be solid silver. This flute has been completely overhauled by Andrew Oxley with new pads. Pitch is 440Hz and condition of the flute is perfect with no cracks, repairs or damage.

This is a very rare instrument by a reknowned maker and a joy to play. Personally I have played a large number of modern wooden flutes and this is by far my favourite. The head is wonderfully responsive and easy to blow and the tonal quality is rich, warm and lush. I would very much recommend this flute.
