This book is a series of sketches about WWI  by John W. Thomason,  who was a Captain in the Corps, descended from a distinguished Southern military family.  -  It is a rare first hand account of the American experience in the Great war - including the Argonne Forest, Belleau Wood, Chateau Thierry, Mont Blanc and St Mihiel. It is profusely illustrated by the author’s own excellent drawings
