We are excited to offer for auction a Hamilton "Wilshire" men's wristwatch from approximately 1939.

The 14k yellow gold filled case features a unique hinged lug design and a rounded rectangular case frame.  Hinged lugs are in good condition with no excess play.  Case shows scattered light scuffs and scratches across the exterior and some loss of the gold fill on the bezel.  Bezel snaps tightly to the case back.  Acrylic crystal shows some light scratches.  Case measures approximately 22mm x 50.5 (lug to lug, laid flat).  Attached to the watch is a brown genuine lizard strap with gold plated buckle.  Sterling silver dial features 18k Arabic numerals with complimenting yellow alpha hands.  Dial shows scattered scratches and chipped paint.  Dial has likely been refinished at some point in the past.  The manually wound, 17 jewel, Hamilton grade 980 movement is in good condition cosmetically.  Winding and setting both function.  Watch does not currently run and will need to be serviced to guarantee accuracy.  Balance does swing freely.

This watch is one of many that we will be listing for sale in the coming weeks that are coming out of a private collection of a respected collector.  Be sure to check back regularly to see what great watches we will have available!

Watches I sell are typically ran for at least 48 hours in both the dial up and crown up positions to make sure they are keeping reasonable time.  Watches have not been cleaned or serviced unless otherwise specified.  Watches should be cleaned and serviced to guarantee accuracy and to preserve them for years to come.

Please review all photos carefully.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Watch will ship USPS Priority Mail fully insured.  For international buyers I use eBay's Global Shipping Program.

Thank you for your time, and happy bidding!
