Unit is a factory refurbished version. Without original retail packaging but with label on box from Garmin and accessories that are still factory wrapped (cable). Includes fresh CD of software, mounting adaptor, manuals, quick guide, etc. Only apparent missing item is a lanyard strap for the unit.
Uses 2 AA batteries (not included) and I tested with a fresh pair. Goes through the process of acquiring Satellites and then defaults to map showing location where tested. I played with the other controls a bit and everything seems to work.
Please refer to the last photo which shows PC requirements for the MapSource software. It is not Mac compatible and according to disclaimer, you are not able to download any additional map details to the handheld unit.
