Vintage hardcover edition of The Best of S.J. Perelman (Modern Library, 1947). Perelman rose to fame as one of America's foremost humorists in the 1930s and 1940s. mostly on the success of his many short pieces in The New Yorker and his screenwriting credits for the Marx Brothers (Monkey Business and Horse Feathers). This collection includes many of his best pieces from the early part of his career. 

This book is in very good condition, with an intact (though clipped) dust jacket, bright pages, and no rips, tears, marks, or other major signs of wear.
