Finish: Black phosphate
These are commonly found under the hood, grille, bumper fillers, radiator support, inner/outer fenders, interior, shifter, dash, trunk area, chassis, etc.
They have a black phosphate coating (not painted), so the finish will last.
These are largely used on GM 1978+ cars and 1988+ full size trucks. Most, but not all, converted to both metric and standard in 1978 and full metric in 1981.
