At the end of the 19th century, Heinrich Jung (Teacher), Dr. Gottfried Von Koch (Professor) and Dr. Friedrich Quentell (Director)- who all recognized a need for high quality, accurate teaching aids in the classroom - collaborated in the creation of an extensive series of biological wall charts, each bringing their expertise and talent to the project.

The dark background of each chart brings out the precise biological work in a beautiful way, and is ideal for teaching. Each illustration depicts a typical representative of its species and its corresponding behaviors.

This series of charts was published in 1891 and distributed in most countries of the civilized world. After WWII, all titles were retouched, in keeping with the changed scientific and artistic discoveries.

This edition was originally printed between the late 60's and early 70's, as sometimes noted on the charts. Yet some pieces were still printed until recently. They have all been printed by the original publisher between the 1960's and the 2010's. Note: they are not technically reproductions as printed by the original publisher but some are more recently printed than others. The older pieces from the early editions we no longer offer as - due to improper storage over the years - they all show major wrinkles and sometimes a multitude of cracks.

There was originally no text printed on the charts, enabling them to be studied throughout the World. Nowadays, they are universally considered as "objets d'art," and are displayed accordingly. Most of the work was done by hand, guaranteeing the outstanding quality of each chart. The colors are brighter, richer, the lines crisper than your typical offset printing today.
