because of the dust cover this book is in very good condition. 

 This book was given to a child for his 4th birtday in 1948 by his aunt

 this inscription is written inside the cover and also on the title page

 Other than that there are no other markings on the book all the pages 

 are intact and are not faded. the dust jacket has some wear and tear but is 

 still in one piece and can be removed without it falling apart. I purchased this

 Along with several other children books all in very good condition from the Estate

 Sale of the Little boy This book was given to 74 years ago . this is rare 1st edition

 with dust jacket
