Found in the depths of an old storage room in a Redmond-area tech company's basement comes this gem, won in a company contest for 'mystery item from storage'. I know nothing of its history or where it came from, nor have I dared to open its factory-sealed plastic wrap.
This is a new in-box (& original factory cellophane) game by Bungie for an Apple Mac from 1993. I don't even own a PC with a floppy drive, but this game was distributed on 800K 3.5" floppies. Note: I have read that not just any disk drive will read these 800K disks - buyer beware!
The sticker on front proudly proclaims "Accelerated for Power Macintosh", so yeah, bleeding edge tech here.
Requirements from the box state:
Requires 8-bit (256) Color Equipped
Macintosh Computer with 2 megs of free
RAM, System 6.0.5 or higher and a hard
disk. Includes 3.5" 800K disks
CONDITION: Please refer to the pictures as well as the notes below.
- Box has typical front and rear concavity (front especially), and a couple corners are a bit mushed. Shelf wear and marks are typical.
- Box has the original factory cellophane, including the small (~1cm) holes in the the plastic for breathability. Plastic is wrinkly around the edges but not torn.
- Thus, contents have NOT been verified, but I can clearly hear the manual and several disks rattling around.
- Floppies UNTESTED and not guaranteed working. Note: I have read that not just any disk drive will read these 800K disks - buyer beware! Do some research first :)
Shipping: I used to work for UPS so I know how to pack things up to prevent damage. I will not open the game box, so it's gonna rattle around inside a bit, but I'll do bubble wrap & peanuts with at least 2 inches of space on all sides.
