This is a nearly new, only-listened-to-once MP3 audiobook recording of Bernard Cornwell's "The Fort: A Novel of the Revolutionary War" about the late 18th century American war for independence from Britain; the format is MP3 so please check to make sure your player or device will play the compressed MP3 format-most will, especially newer ones, but if you are not sure it is best to check before buying to avoid disappointment. The narrator is Robin Bowerman. This book is a little bit hard to find as an audiobook, as is true of so many British authors' works, unfortunately.

There are two discs in total-the compressed format allows for much more data to fit onto fewer discs-and they have only been listened to once and stored carefully. The discs are pristine and closer to Like New condition, as noted above, while the case shows some minor shelf wear so is more like Very Good-see Condition Notes and photos for more detail.

For those who would like a bit of an idea what the book is about (if not you can skip this part), the novel focuses on military strategy and battles taking place in 1779 in New England, and it does feature a favorite character in American history, Paul Revere, before he has become the folk hero we think of today. In this story Revere faces a court martial "for disobedience and cowardice" after a terrible defeat in a land and sea battle against Scottish invaders. The Scottish side is represented as well, and the whole tale is told with the usual compelling insight that Cornwell brings to all things military. If you like Cornwell or are a devotee of American history you will probably enjoy this audiobook.

CONDITION NOTES: As noted above, the two discs are in clean, pristine condition that I would call Like New-please see photos,. where I have tried to show both discs on both sides to show their condition. The case I would call Very Good since it has some minor shelf wear such as rubbing to the clear plastic covering, and there are a couple of shallow indentations to the clear plastic as well. Structurally the case is in excellent shape with no issues I can see-it opens and closes with no problems, the inside wells that hold the CDs and the round inner shapes that lock them in place are all intact. There are foam coverings protecting the discs. Please see all photos for more detail of the audiobook's appearance and condition. Thank you!
