Astatic released this model primarily for general purpose public address use, factory, school, warehouse, etc, with stand for most any desktop applications. (The handle is not detachable, but permanently affixed to the base, with anti-skid rubber ring on the base.) The original crystal element was dead, so we have installed a new dynamic replacement capsule, dramatically increasing the response, and with super strong audio output.
