This hardback book entitled "King Alfred's Viking", with the subtitle “A Story of the First English Fleet”, is a novel written by Charles W Whistler, published by Thomas Nelson and Sons.
St Olave’s School, York presented this book as a prize to WP Allen at Christmas 1898. The dedication shows the Latin school motto - Fidus Usque Ad Mortem. The school’s name and crest are embossed in gold on the back cover.
The book’s cover has some scuffs and marks, the spine has slight fraying. The text pages are mostly clean and clear. See photos for the condition.
