Up for sale, a Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 EX lens for Canon EF cameras. I don't know the back story here but this lens is not functional in its current state. I don't see any real impact damage so don't have a clue what has happened. The focus (and other aspects) do not work in AF or Manual. I tried this on a Rebel and it didn't like the AF mode (it looked like the camera didn't recognize it at all). In manual the shutter would fire.
Swapped to a Canon 5D MkIII the AF setting seems compatible - I heard the motor give a little bump when the shutter was depressed but that was it. In manual, nothing. I can't even get the focus distance indicator to move (the focus collar spins). I turned the lens around and fired off 1 second at f16 and the aperture is not stopping down. In addition, the zoom barrel will only travel from about 120 to 235mm so there's another problem for you.
Perhaps a repairman will comprehend what is happening here. It's pretty useless in its current state.
Optics look decent, the front and rear elements are defect free as far as I can tell. There are some dust particles inside the lens group and some small spots under the front glass, I've tried to show it in one of the pics. If you could get the lens to function the optics would probably render decent pics.
Sold strictly for parts or repair, it has ISSUES, several. Includes rear cap and shade pictured.
US bidders/buyers only please. This will ship tracked and insured.
