An Amateur Press Association (APA) is a group of people who produce individual pages, whole sections, or individual fanzines (amateur periodicals), that are then sent to a Central Mailer, who usually adds their own section that includes a content page, for collation/binding and distribution to all members of the group. Generally, the number of copies made of each issue are limited to the number of members in the APA, and sometimes about 1-5 copies more. Generally the printing processes used are NOT photo-offset (litho) but small-run printing technologies such as Copier/xerox machine, computer laser and inkjet printers, etc.
The COMIC & FANTASY ART - AMATEUR PRESS ASSOCIATION (CFA-APA) is made up of members who are collectors of original artworks used in the publication of comic strips, comic books, pulp magazines, and fantasy books. Founded by Roger Hill in 1985, this APA has published an issue on a roughly quarterly basis for the last 38 years (its latest issue is #120) and 121 is expected soon (as of Sept 2023). Hill acted as the Central Mailer for the first 15 issues and at other times during the run.
Each issue is based on a topic - usually a particular artist, or group/school of artists, or art collecting topic. The topic of the upcoming issues are announced ahead of time to the members, who are asked to write something on topic for the respective issue, but this is not mandatory. Generally most of the content of each issue is writings on the topic/personages of that issue's dedication, sometimes including interviews - and often INCLUDES ARTWORKS NOT PUBLISHED ELSEWHERE as they may be commissions and other work purchased from the artists directly, etc.
In the CFA-APA the number of copies of each issue has been as LOW AS 40 COPIES to a HIGH OF 60 COPIES!
(which means that only 40 complete sets could ever be assembled - good luck getting even one together!)
As most members have held onto their copies, since it contains their own writings, finding a copy of any issue on the market is VERY RARE INDEED!
Comic And Fantasy Art - Amateur Press Association (CFA-APA) issues 1-53 were NOT hand-numbered (e.g. x/50) and signed by the at-the-time central mailer; that practice began with #54)

Due to many requests, I have enrolled in eBay's GLOBAL SHIPPING PROGRAM (GSP) so that buyers OUTSIDE THE USA can have access to purchasing my items.
IMPORTANT: if you wish to buy more than one of my items and have them ship together, WRITE TO ME FIRST before doing anything and tell me which items you want, and I will make a custom listing just for you that includes all of them for the agreed combined sale price.
DON'T click the Buy It Now buttons on the various items first, because the GSP DOES NOT ALLOW COMBINED SHIPPING OF MULTIPLE SALES in the GSP cart!!!
