From humble beginnings to dream fulfilling, the author is excited to debut her first book, Cute as a Button Tough as a Girl, which shares her unimaginable journey as a basketball player and the life lessons that were learned along the way. Unaware that she had any athletic talent in the sport, she attended the tryout practice for the next year's 5th and 6th grades girls' basketball team. To her delight and surprise, she made the team and thus started on an interesting journey as a basketball player from childhood to adulthood. Her life lessons have been instrumental in her academic, athletic and personal growth and toughness to overcome challenges in life throughout the years. From the elated joys of victories to the excruciating heartbreak from losses, the love for the game of basketball has taken her to unexpected places and be the unsuspecting recipient of coveted awards. It is her desire to encourage and share words of wisdom to the present age and generations to come, that the reader is inspired to dream and put forth the necessary actions to make his or her dream a reality, to use negative experiences as a spring board to launch into a better life and do greater things, and to have a personal relationship and fellowship with God, through His precious Son, Jesus Christ.
