Key for best before information on the battery: loose industrial goods from Varta are printed with the production date of the cells. From this production date, the cells have a shelf life of up to 10 years. The print on the back is encoded as follows: The printout consists of 4 digits (DWWY): D = day, WW = calendar week and Y = year of manufacture Sample print: 2409 = 2. Day week 40 2019 - this cell was therefore manufactured on 01.10.2019 and would last until approx. October 2029. In addition to the DWWY representation, the YM durability scheme also exists. Here, the first digit represents the year and the second digit represents the month. Due to the limited places imposed by the decimal system, the months of October (0), November (Y) and December (Z) will have different labeling. A cell labeled 91 would therefore have been produced in January 2019. Note: We recommend avoiding the use of battery testers, as they can - depending on the device - discharge the battery instantly. The same applies to touching the cells with your bare fingers. Residual currents can occur through the skin, which ensure that the cell discharges. The use of dry rubber gloves can prevent this and ensure proper functioning of the battery. Due to our high throughput volumes, a fresh production date is always guaranteed upon delivery. To avoid unwanted unloading of the cells, please ensure that the cells remain in their packaging until use and are not stored on top of each other. Short circuits and residual currents can otherwise also discharge the cell.

Instruction according to § 18 Battery Act (BattG)

Please make sure that you hand over your old batteries/rechargeable batteries, as required by law, to a local municipal collection point or shop. Disposal via ordinary household waste is prohibited and violates the Battery Act. Delivery is free of charge for you. You are also welcome to return the batteries purchased from us free of charge after use. The batteries/rechargeable batteries must be returned to us with sufficient postage in any case.
