Exhibition Catalog
The Oakland Museum

Watercolors in the traditional Japanese Ukiyo-e style from a late 20th century American perspective.

From the catalog's preface:
His use of traditional Japanese imagery juxtaposed or "invaded" by Americanisms forces us to laugh at and, at the same time, to evaluate our own contemporary culture. Rarely, if ever, has humor been so successfully conveyed in American art.
Includes an introduction by exhibition curator Harvey L. Jones and an essay by artist Gerard Haggerty.

Illustrated with black & white and color prints of the artist's works.

24 pages.
