Description

1940's era Kay model K-12 jumbo flattop guitar.

Body measures 17 inches at lower bout, and overall body length is 20 1/2 inches with a 26 inch scale. Mahogany back, sides, and neck. Solid spruce top, and Brazilian rosewood bridge & fingerboard, tortes bindings.

This is far from a collector grade Kay as it has had some repairs notably a long top crack below the pickguard as well as a couple repaired cracks by the neck joint (see pics). Replacement pickguard. There's a couple smaller cracks under the guard both above the bridge, and by the fingerboard. The back was off the guitar to make repairs. Original bracing was loose, and was completely replaced with X bracing. Now it's as they say a "Boomer"!

Plays and sounds excellent. These have a beefy neck as there is no truss rod. Neck is straight, reset for a nice action, bone nut and saddle.

No case
