Most people don't realize how many common woods are fluorescent! Not all rainbow poplar is fluorescent, it depends on the minerals in any given piece of Poplar. The first picture is what a finished guitar will look like under 385-400nm blacklight!

Yellow Poplar is one of the stiffest woods per weight in the world! It's a common aircraft grade lumber substitute for Sitka and has almost the same stiffness to weight! Its incredibly resonant with a broad tone range. It will fill out any low points in a soundboards frequency spectrum. It has the qualities of an amazing tonewood, but because of its common place, and bland color, its overlooked. That's when rainbow Poplar comes in!
