Hoagy Carmichael Stardust Gennett 78 RPM Record Hot Jazz Dance Very Rare LISTEN

For your consideration is a rare vintage 10 inch 78 rpm record by Hoagy Carmichael and His Pals entitled Stardust b/w One Night In Havana. The very first recording of this enduring jazz standard. Gennett did not find the record particularly compelling and allegedly planned on destroying the master but instead used it as a B-Side with their preferred recording Havana. With little to no promotion, the record may not have even sold all of its initial run and no further pressings were made, making this Gennett issue Carmichaels rarest and most illusive for collectors.

This copy has certainly seen better days, but plays surprisingly well provided its appearance. A link has been provided below which will bring you to a transfer I made for your evaluation. Last time a non cracked copy sold of this was almost 10 years ago. The number of still existing copies is probably around a dozen. Very very rare one!

All of our old shellac and vinyl 78 records are packed with utmost care and precaution so as to ensure they arrive to you in the same condition in which they were shipped out. I have extensive experience shipping 78s. For an in depth explanation of my shipping methods, see the bottom of this page. All items will be shipped within 3 days of purchase. All good faith offers thoroughly considered.

Keep in mind that for the highest fidelity reproduction results, a correct sized, well maintained stylus should always be used and antique records should also always receive a deep cleaning with a stiff bristled brush and a non-alcohol based soap. I do not provide grading beyond what is required by eBay. If the photographs prove insufficient, do not hesitate to reach out with a question, as well as any other type of inquiry related to an item.

All 78 rpm records, vinyl or shellac, will be shipped sandwiched between either thick cardboard or some spare 78 rpm discs to provide substantial reinforcement for uneven pressure placed on a package during shipment. The record sandwich is then suspended in packing peanuts on all sides. Packing peanuts are the optimal durable memory material as they will insulate your item against any acute forces such as a fall or any type of blow and unlike bubble wrap will not pop and lose their shape if subjected to a strong force.
