Vintage Polk Audio "Monitor Series" Monitor 2 bookshelf speakers in great condition! Really appealing two-way stereo speakers with that classic Polk sound. "Newer" tweeter style (with the little three-footed deflectors, if you're reading this, you know what I mean).
Drivers are in unbelievably good shape. All original. These speakers were built in Baltimore, Maryland. A bit of a time capsule, they look as though they've barely been used.
I have been auditioning these speakers with a small Bryston 2B amplifier and an entry level Rotel preamp. The speakers sound fantastic and produce surprisingly deep bass for their size.
The sound stage is remarkably three-dimensional, with rich vocals sounding like they emanate from thin air in between the speakers. (There is a bit of a sweet-spot for the listener's ideal seat/position.)
These speakers punch way above their weight level. They are warm and articulate. Highly listenable. Well-matched to the CD sound, but vinyl really sounds delightful. I also spent some time listening to digital stuff through a Bluetooth connection and the Monitor 2's sound awesome pumping out music that was recorded almost 50 years after these speakers were built!
