Presenting this wonderful mid-century modern Australian studio pottery vase with makers mark for your consideration.

This 1950s piece features a very beautiful, stylish and modern form with a wonderfully shaped waist. Hand painted on the vase is a stunning futuristic abstract design focused around the use of strong geometric shapes infilled with bold yellow and blue primary colours. The design is absolutely superb in its simplicity yet impressive due to its ability to command attention.

This impressive mid-century vase has been completed with a high gloss glaze that allows the natural colour of clay to form the perfect canvas for the amazing abstract design! The waist on the vase reflects light superbly to really highlight not only the shape of the vase but to also showcase the hand-painted design.

The base of the vase has been incised with "AA6". Next to this is the number "198" hand written in pen. Maker unknown.

Size & Weight
This impressive mid-century designer vase measures stands 16.5cm in height and measures 9cm in diameter at its waist. It weighs 471 grams.

Condition
Presented in wonderful vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.

There are some ultra-light visible signs of age related wear and markings, although far less than is to be expected of a vase that is over 70 years of age. The colours are display their original and wonderful vibrancy. The high gloss glaze retains its original and superb lustre and shine.

The unglazed base shows an age related ring of wear and light soiling. This only assists in authenticating the age of the piece and is mentioned purely for accuracy.
