Johnny Mathis is an American singer of popular music. Starting
his career with singles of standard music, Mathis became highly popular
as an album artist, with several dozen of his albums achieving gold or

Mathis began recording in the 1950s but it was a career rennaisance in the 1970s that brought his biggest successes, with the Christmas Number 1 in 1976 with "When a Child is Born" and the single "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late", with Deniece Williams in 1978 which topped the charts in the US and reached Number 3 in the UK.

the '50s and '60s during Johnny Mathis' tenure with Columbia. Included
are the original versions of "The Twelfth of Never," "It's Not for Me to
Say," "Wonderful, Wonderful," and "Chances Are."
