This was made by Detroit Coil Company for Model T and Model A Fords in the early 1900s. Each Model T had four of these ignition coils, so you will find lots of originals on resale and collector websites. This is one of the prettiest I've seen. The oak has a natural patina, and the exposed corner joints are crisp. I have not cleaned the brass fittings, but all are intact. Since it's for display purposes, I did not test it. A great example of American automotive ingenuity.
