Lledo Models of Days Gone
Official Collectors Guides 1992

RDP Publications

Jack Odell, one of the founders of the Matchbox diecast company, founded Lledo (Odell backwards) in 1982, and launched the "Days Gone" range of models in 1983, serving a market previously popularised by the Matchbox "Models of Yesteryear" series.

Lledo also firmly established themselves as the "go-to" guys for organisations and companies who wanted to commission model vehicles in their own livery as marketing or promotional items.

The Lledo range remains popular among collectors worldwide.

These guide books were published by RDP Publications and are recognised as the "official" collectors guides.

On offer here is a set of two books from 1992, which detail all models released up to that point. The cream-covered book has 72 pages and details the basic "Days Gone" range, detailing release dates, casting information, production run quantities etc. Model numbers DG1 to DG52 are covered, along with information on American releases, special sets and "Marathons".

The second book, with the blue cover, covers Promotional Models, which shared the same basic model numbers as the standard Days Gone range, but with a prefix of  LP instead of the usual DG. It has 68 pages, covering LP1 to LP49 plus information on a few promotional "Marathons".

Together, these two volumes give a comprehensive picture of the models produced by Lledo up to the point of publication. A vital reference set for collectors.

Good pre-owned condition.  Covers have marks from removal of sticky labels and both books have general minor age-related wear. Generally very good, with no serious rips and no tape. All pages intact and undamaged; however a previous owner has clearly used the guides as a checklist for his own collection, so some pages have been annotated with coloured highlighter pens.
