Lledo (Corgi) Models of Days Gone/Vanguards
Official Collectors Guide 2001

RDP Publications

Jack Odell, one of the founders of the Matchbox diecast company, founded Lledo (Odell backwards) in 1982, and launched the "Days Gone" range of models in 1983, serving a market previously popularised by the Matchbox "Models of Yesteryear" series.

Lledo also firmly established themselves as the "go-to" guys for organisations and companies who wanted to commission model vehicles in their own livery as marketing or promotional items.

When Lledo went bankrupt in 1999, the brand name and tooling for all the models were acquired by rival diecast manufacturer Corgi, who continued to produce new models under the Lledo name.

The Lledo range remains popular among collectors worldwide.

These guide books were published by RDP Publications and are recognised as the "official" collectors guides.

On offer here is the guide from 2001, which details all the "Corgi Era" models released from 2000 up to the publication date, and including scheduled releases to the end of 2001. The book has 56 pages and details the basic "Days Gone" range, including "Trackside", "Showmans", "Circus" and "Pioneers of Aviation", detailing release dates, casting information, production run quantities etc.

In addition, the book covers Promotional Models, which shared the same basic model numbers as the standard Days Gone range, but with a prefix of LP or SP instead of the usual DG, and some models with the PM prefix, which were additional Lledo castings for models not included in the base "Days Gone" series.

A comprehensive picture of the Lledo models produced by Corgi in their first 2 years after acquiring the rights. A vital reference source for collectors.
