Cass Timberlane
By Sinclair Lewis (1945)
First Edition, First Printing

Description: The 1945 novel by Sinclair Lewis, the 19th of his career. Although primarily known for his satirical comedies which sent up the mores of the Jazz Age of the 1920s, Lewis continued to publish new work all the way up to his alcoholism-related death in 1951. This particular novel, a domestic soap opera with little social commentary, was first published serially in Cosmopolitan magazine, and was eventually made into a Hollywood movie starring Spencer Tracy and Lana Turner.

Condition: Text: Fine Minus (F-). Almost in like-new condition, except for an inscription from a previous owner in ink on the inside front cover. Dust jacket: Very Good Plus (VG+). Still in strong, tight shape, but with a badly sunned spine, and some dirt and a long scratch on the back cover.

Provenance: Acquired at the Hyde Park Book Fair, Chicago, October 2014.
