Upland Gunning: Collected Etchings and Water Colors of Sport in the Field and Allied Subjects, by William J Schaldach.  A Country Press Book, AS Barnes & Co (1946). Brown hardcover with gilt lettering (9x12”) unpaginated with 50 b&w Plates and 6 color plates.

This is a sampling of Schaldach's work during his career up to that time, as much as a book on the topic of upland gunning.  In my opinion.  But it's an interesting collection, and some of the works of art have a sort of Asian style to them (the chickadees, for example), in my completely amateur opinion.

Biggest condition problem is that light-colored area on the front cover (see first pic) where someone (presumably) scrubbed off a blemish along with too much of the cover pigment.  Binding is tight and pages are clean, though this book is showing some overall age toning.  Hardcover shows edge and surface wear/some staining, there's that scrubbed area, and the spine has darkened.

Please see the pictures for more information about this book and the condition of this copy.
