Collectible book from the 45-year stash of award-winning author Jessica Salmonson

THE NAZARINI: A Missionary Story., Noller, Ella M.. Grand Rapids, Michigan: Wm B Eerdmans, 1942.

First Edition. Near Fine hardcover, in very mildly edge-worn dustwrapper. A missionary in Africa encounters cannibal Leopard Men, a python worshipping cult, a Muslim sheik, and a tyrannical Oxford-educated would-be dictator of all Yaounde in the heart of the continent. This is pure pulp with a Christian protagonist. It needs forgiveness for unquestioned racism of its day, as does the majority of action pulp adventure of the era, but accidentally reveals a lot about attitudes of the times while delivering a thrilling adventure. First edition.
