The common problem is the valve coils that somehow breakdown over time. The igniter is also a common problem but mine was working fine. Utube videos are very detailed in gas dryer operation and repair. In the utube video, they show how to remove the front door, remove the panel covering the bottom of the dryer working parts. By reattaching the door and closing it, you can observe the operation of the system to verify the motors starting up, the gas valves being closed /opened by the coils, and the igniter turning on while the gas is turned on. The operation may work for a couple of gas lightings but may stop working after a couple of cycles due to the coils not performing properly.

These parts are all new and in their original packaging. I just looked at the pictures and the igniter appears to have darkened but this must just be their initial break-in or testing-it has not ever been installed in a dryer.
