Planet Studios was created in 1987 and was sold in 2007. Between 1987 and 1996 it created some of the best cloisonne pins (also know as hard enamel pins) ever manufactured and have became very highly sought after. The company created mainly Marvel pins between 1988 and 1996.


The Punisher Skull cutout Cloisonne Pin is © 1990 Marvel, was manufactured by Planet Studios and is #139 in the series.

It has been brought to my attention by numerous advanced Planet Studios pin collectors they want to know the color of the back of this pin as there were various metals used at different manufacturing times (printings): SILVER (zinc), GOLD (copper), BLACK (nickel) or REDDISH (copper) which I assume determines the printing / print run. In a way this is just like a variant of a comic book's second or third printing. I have now added this important information to all my descriptions.

The back of this pin is SILVER.

The pin is in MINT condition and still FACTORY SEALED in its ORIGINAL BAG.
