This ChromeBox, which originally ran ChromeOS, is retrofitted with firmware allowing the installation of alternative operating systems via UEFI-bootable USB drives, namely Linux.  The ability to run Linux allowed me to keep this machine useful, as it sat idle for a while when Google dropped its support of ChromeOS on this machine.

This machine has a fresh installation of Linux Mint v21.3 Xfce edition, a lightweight distribution suitable for smaller machines like this Chromebox.  A password and superuser ID have been set, but NO ADDITIONAL CONFIGURATION has been done - this will be up to you (or, of course you can replace this install entirely with another distribution as you wish).  When you boot the device the first time, you'll see a Mint Welcome dialog that will walk you through the remaining configuration tasks.  The superuser ID and password to the current installation will be provided to the buyer through eBay's messaging system upon shipment.  

Technical support is NOT included.  If you are uncomfortable doing basic troubleshooting with Linux, this auction may not be for you.  I have tested some basic functions with this version (WiFI connectivity, USB keyboard and wireless mouse, USB thumb drive access, web browsing, etc.) but can't guarantee every single function you need will work, or that future updates won't break functionality.  Please bid (or not) accordingly.  That said, these boxes are popular targets for Linux resurrections and there is a lot of excellent information online.  Google is your friend.  :-)
