This classic AR 2ax speaker pair was restored an only few years ago with new crossover capacitors and cleaning of the tweeter and midrange level controls. These can be cleaned again. The cloth woofer surrounds have been treated recently with a special sealer from Vintage AR Parts and Service. The only issue is that the tweeter output has dropped. This is typical due to the age of these drivers. The good news is they can be rebuilt by Vintage AR to perform like new for $89 per tweeter.

The tweeter output is the reason I’m selling the pair for $170. These are great speakers for someone willing to make the investment.

The cosmetics are still good for speakers of this vintage. Some marks exist, but in my opinion theses are minor. Neither grill has the AR 2ax badge. These can be picked up on eBay.
