A vintage book of the address given at the opening of the Library of Congress California Centennial Exhibit by Carl I. Wheat, November 12, 1949. Mr. Wheat was a prolific writer of California History. The Historical Society of Southern California still bestows an annual Carl I. Wheat award for the best demonstration of scholarship in the Southern California Quarterly by a senior historian. First Edition. Signed by Harold G. Pattison, Bibliography and Publications Committee, Library of Congress, September 2, 1950.

500 copies were printed for the Library of Congress.  24 pages of stiff paper.  The cover is minus the spine, which will be sent with the book. All pages are intact but some have a shadowy pinkish stain on them as shown in one of the photos.
