Published by C. Arthur Pearson, Limited, Henrietta Street in London and printed from American plates in Great Britain by the University Press, Aberdeen.

The boards and spine are bound in the publisher’s original blue cloth. The cloth is still vibrant and has gilt illustrations and a gilt border on the front board and gilt lettering on the spine. The blue cloth bound boards and spine are intact, robust, and in a good condition for nearly 100 years old. There is a small amount of wear, including soft bumping to the corners, just a few small or light marks, and a slight lean to the spine. Please see the photographs provided for further reference.

Inside, the pages are lightly tanned, which is consistent for a book of this age. There is light foxing throughout, heavier in parts. Besides this, the pages are overall neat and mostly uncreased. There are no rips to the pages. On the inside edge of page 125 there is a small amount of rubbing. This does not affect the text. Please see the photo provided. On the front free endpaper there is a pen inscription and a small bookseller sticker pasted to the front pastedown. There are no further pen or pencil marks written inside this book. Most of the binding is tight, with just a very slight crack in the gutter between a few pages. These are all minor and the pages are all secure. There are no loose or missing pages and so all 348 pages are present. Please study the photos carefully as to the condition of this book, as they do form part of the description.

This measures approximately 18.9 cm by 12.8 cm and 3.3 cm wide. It weighs approximately 323 grams.
