the high register notes are crisp and clear.Specifications: • Handmade sterling silver Mateki headjoint with solid silver riser and solid silver lip plate

in 1978 by a master craftsman Shigeru Watanabe, Mateki is a boutique
Japanese flute company with a small output of flutes of exceptional
quality. Whether it is one of their top-line gold models or their
intermediate silver-headed models, the same craftspeople worked on all
models, meaning a wealth of experience and expertise went into every
single flute. Starting in 1997, Shigeru's son, Ryuichi Watanabe and five
experienced craftsmen continued making and perfecting Mateki flutes. In
contrast to other manufacturers who switched to mass production, Mateki
persistently sticks to traditional handmade craftsmanship, with this
particular flute being an exceptional exemplar of a high-end
silver-headed model!Pisoni S-2 Pads:Flute
pads can have a phenomenal impact on the performance, feel, and
response of a flute. The Pisoni S-2 pads were designed for high-end
professional flutes and are a marvelous pairing to the handmade Mateki
flutes.• The design of the pad ensures that
it is virtually impervious to changes in temperature and humidity that
cause felt pads to expand or contract.• Pisoni S2
pads also have an extremely firm and flat surface. This creates a more
precise seal, resulting in increased resonance and clarity of sound. This
flute has an even scale, beefy low register that caries consistently
through all registers, great mechanism, and wonderful harmonics and
overtones. Different tone colors and dynamics can be played with ease.
You can really project on this instrument!Comes
in black PROTEC INTERNATIONAL travel carrying hard case, which holds
the flute tight and securely (there are some signs of wear and tear outside the
case, but it still works fine). The case has an extra compartment, which
could be used for a piccolo or accessories.
