EDWARDS E-M-II CTM
The M-II, which is a model in the MIRAGE lineage born in the late 1980s, is one of ESP's most popular models, loved by many guitarists, and still has strong roots in popularity. Based on the M-II, the EDWARDS E-M-II CTM is now available with modern specs.
The body is ash with laminated flame maple veneer on the top. The top edge of the body is wrapped with hard maple wood binding. The neck is 3-piece hard maple, and the fingerboard is ebony. The position marks on the top of the fingerboard have been purposely left out for a stylish look. The head is wrapped with the same wood binding as the body.
The neck is bolted on to the body. The joint part is a CD cut, a new mechanism that pursues further specification that can be said to be a development of the Queen cut, and by lowering a part of the body to the inside of the cutaway by one step with a bush type joint system, a smooth shape that reduces stress caused by the thickness near the high frets as much as possible is possible. The hardware is GOTOHOHSHIO's GOTOHSHIO CD cutter.
As for the hardware, GOTOH MG-T mechanism is used for the pegs to reduce stress when changing strings. For pickups, the H-3, the latest model from ESP Custom Lab, is used. It is a high-gain type with a matte bobbin, black logo, black pole piece, and a humbucker with rich low-mids.
The bridge is also an ESP Custom Lab fixed type, with a bridge plate surrounding the saddle to prevent lateral saddle shake and transmit string vibration to the body without loss.
The simple master volume, master tone, and lever pickup selector control configuration allows intuitive operation.
The neck grip is satin-finished and slides well, so there is no stress when changing positions. The body is finished with a thin coat of paint to preserve the texture of the wood surface. The use of lacquer for the topcoat gives it a unique texture and feel.
