Rex Whistler His Life & Drawings by  Lawrence Whistler,  published by Hamish Hamilton, 1948  (1st) This includes an enormous selection of Rex's drawings in black/white, no colour. 

PLUS  In Pursuit of Rare Meats, Being the Story of the Rex Whistler Murals in the Tate Gallery Restaurant By Edith Oliver" Tate/HMSO, paperback, this is a gem for any followers/admirers of  Rex Whistler, no illustrations except for the cover. They are  original editions.   They are, basically all in very good condition with no modifications. 

The only flaws are riffling of the jacket of the Biography by Rex, which has heavy foxing, signs of age & micro pieces missing...see photos. & there has been a slight bending of the rear/top outer corner of the Rare Meats,  apart from this latter this booklet is nearly mint.  A very rare copy in such good condition.

Added to this cornucopia is a slip of paper from Lawrence   with the following... " Little Place....With thanks & best wishes.  L W " & pencil dated as being 1970 He was returning a borrowed item illustrated by his brother.

Sold by an independent and solo ex-bookshop owner, with around 50 years of experience, who takes pride in listing and researching every volume. Someone who does not consider books as mere square objects with printing inside, fixed only on selling in high quantities as quickly as possible,  but one who takes deep interest not only in the book itself, but also, where possible, its history.
