"Turning Night Into Day: The Story of Lighting" was written by M. Ilin. It is the history of light, from fire to the electric light bulb, neon tubes and sodium lamps. This is a fifth printing of the book which was translated into English by Beatrice Kinkead and published by the J.B. Lippincott Company in 1936. It is heavily illustrated with charming black & white drawings by the Russian artist N. Lapshin and seems to be aimed for young adults.
