This is a rare, original copy of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream copyrighted in 1909 by Grosset & Dunlap in New York. It could have been printed anywhere from 1909 to 1940 when it was inscribed and gifted to Sherman. The hardcover book with dust jacket is in reasonable vintage condition with no markings observed on the pages other than the inscription as shown. and is a great addition to any collection of antiquarian literature and fiction. The book is definitely not signed by Shakespeare and features no identification provided for the illustrator. This wonderful book is a must-have for fans of classics and the Shakespearean era. The Famous Temple Notes and the unique character family of Shakespeare adds value to this piece. 113 pages. Note in addition to the usual age darkening of the dust jacket it has some tears on the edges. A good readable copy.
