For every 4,999 copies of Vader Down #1 purchased, retailers could purchase just 1 copy of this extremely rare variant!

Legend has it that this special edition was produced to parody DC comics who had promoted a 1 in 5,000 retailer incentive variant of Dark Knight III: The Master Race #1. Vader Down made it to retailers first, a week before Dark Knight III, with many variants, including a full color Zdarsky variant also featuring Vader and Jaxxon.

Raws of this book, which is uniquely distinguished by its mostly black and white cover, rarely come up for auction, but a crisp, unopened polybagged edition from 2016 is unheard of. There is unlikely to be another anytime soon as I bought this back when Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi was just hitting the theaters.
