Five images of this 114-yer-old, very-generously illustrated book are shown below. It is: The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Published in London by George Harrap & Co., 1910, first edition thus. This poem was first-published in 1798; the book offered here is the first edition with these illustrations. It measures 12 1/2" x 9 1/2" and is unpaginated, approximately 175 pages. The book is in overall Very Good condition with some uneven fading and wear to the binding; please see images #4 and #5 below for large details of the boards (i.e., this book is slightly larger than my scanner bed). There is a 1910 gift inscription on a blank preliminary page, and there is some gentle overall wear. There are 20, full-page, tipped-in, color illustrations in Fine condition by Willy Pogany (e.g., image #2 below). In addition, Pogany has done additional full-page illustrations (e.g., image #3), decorations, or decorated border on every page. He also has fully-decorated the endpapers and front board. The book's top page edge is gilt; there is no former-owner's bookplate inside, and there is no foxing. It will be shipped in a solid new box anywhere in the United States via USPS Media Mail for free.
