A very rare tact on Mesmerism / Animal Magnetism. The first edition 1837 copy of The Philosophy of Animal Magnetism by A Gentleman From Philadelphia.
This is a very rare edition and one of the earliest instances of Mesmerism being introduced to the United States. From the research I have done I was only able to find 5 copies of this particular edition having been sold on record.
Worn. Loose pages and hinges. Must be handled carefully. Staining on both covers, wear to cloth spine and hinges very loosely attached, staining/foxing throughout text. Several pages with pencil scrawling as depicted in the photos in listing.
