August E. Stetson, C.S.D. by Gail M. Weatherbe. An introduction to the hitherto hidden story of Mary Baker Eddy's cherished student, Augusta E. Stetson, including the "church triumphant" built "on a wholly spiritual foundation, than which there is no other." Original publication of Emma Publishing Publishing Society, 1991. In 1886 Mrs. Eddy sent Augusta Stetson to New York City to establish the "Christianity of Christian Science." She conferred upon her the degree of C.S.D., and she is one of only three women Mary Baker Eddy bestowed the title of "Reverend" upon. Mrs. Stetson's success in New York City is well-known. We are fortunate to make available over a dozen items pertaining to the vital history of Mary Baker Eddy and one of her most beloved students, August Stetson, through the courtesy and association with Emma Publishing Society. This is a new item, 46 pages, measuring 5"x6-3/4" bound in a beige linen card stock with black stamping on the front cover. We are pleased to offer many items from our acquisition of Rare Book Company of New Jersey, for nearly 90 years the predominant preservationist and source of authentic original and rare items pertaining to Christian Science.
