This is a Chrome 9" Power Brake Booster with Mounting Bracket and Pedal Rod Extension for 1957-72 Ford Cars and Trucks with Disc Brakes in Front and Drum Brakes in Rear.

Please do your research and check your firewall to see if this is applicable since so much could have been altered by production changes or supply of parts at factory depending on production location 60 years ago. Your vehicle could have been altered also during this last 50 to 60 years.

This listing includes:
  • Chrome 9" power brake booster
  • Chrome Ball Milled Flat Top Master Cylinder
  • Chrome Disc / Drum Proportioning Valve with Chrome Driver Side Mounting Bracket
  • Lines for Connecting Proportioning Valve to Master Cylinder
  • Black Firewall Mounting Bracket with Rod Extension and Linkage

Master cylinder features:

  • Chrome Flat Center Milled Top
  • 2 fluid reservoirs
  • 9/16" & 1/2" Ports
  • 1" Bore

The included valve is also called a combination valve, as it performs all of the necessary valving functions with a disc brake conversion. These functions include the following:

  • Proportioning:

As more force is applied to the brakes and the car begins to lean forward, less braking force is needed in the rear. This valve decreases the pressure to the rear, preventing lock up.

  • Metering:

Metering is used in the front disk brake portion in the disc/drum system to delay application of the front discs allowing the slower reacting drum brakes to catch up. This provides rear stability on wet surfaces and helps prevent front pad wear. There is no metering function with the disc/disc setup.

  • Residual Pressure:

Drum Brakes require residual pressure of 10 lbs. to be held in the line. This pressure keeps the brake shoes close to the drums giving you a more firm pedal feel. The disc/disc setup does not require this pressure.

  • System Failure Switch:

This valve has a system failure switch that will alert you when half of your braking system is not working properly.

The bracket fits a wide range of Ford Cars & Trucks made from 1957-72. In some cases, you won't need all of the components that are supplied, you may only need the brackets with out the linkage & use the pedal rod extension provided.

Applications include, but not limited to:
  • 1957-72 Ford Truck (Remove Linkage, Use Brackets & Pedal Rod Extension)
  • 1964-66 Mustang / Cougar (Works on Manual Transmissions Only)
  • 1962-72 Ford Galaxie
  • 1962-70 Ford Custom

Note:  It may also be necessary to cut the end of the booster rod to work with the bracket...this is normal.  Also, does not fit Ford Fairlane
