So let me describe the function of each fasteners and their terminolgy
Caps
This is the part that attaches to the top of the canvas, it is crimped to the Socket
Sockets
This is the part that attaches to the underneath of the canvas
Studs (windheild, screw, plain)
This is the part that attached to the deck and what the Socket snaps onto
Posts
This part can also be crimped to the Stud above to let you attach canvas to canvas
Windscreen / windshield clips
This clip onto the aluminium frame of quite a number of speedboats.
Tooling
I have two types of tools that will do the job. One is a hammer and punch type tool the other is simply a squeeze tool.
If you have patience and do not have too many to fit then the closing tool, cutter and disc is fine. If you want a perfect join, do not need to take canopy of each time and a tool that cuts the hole and crimps in one go then the hoover tool is for you.

Our brass nickel plated snap fasteners (silver in colour) also with lighter tools that are cost effective and give good resistance to certain environments.
