Beautiful,vintage Benotto 850 racing bike.
Measures 24" from centre of bottom bracket to top of seat tube.
14 speed Campagnolo gears.
So here is a rather splendid,vintage Benotto 850 racing bike,from the early 1980's.
Very original excluding the wheels (originals are available) and just repainted in the classic Benotto champagne colour scheme,with new decals.It's fitted with Campagnolo 980 gears,Cinelli bars & stem,Ambrosio tubular rims on Campagnolo hubs,Sakae chainset,Brooks Professional,leather saddle and Modolo brakes.All original to the bike excluding the wheels.
Benotto are a highly successful name in the world of cycling and in the gold colour scheme their bikes always look very distinctive.
I purchased this particular bike a few years ago and have had many a good journey on it.However it's had less use of late so perhaps time for someone else to enjoy it?
As mentioned,it has just had a full respray of the frame and forks,with new decals applied and then lacquered over.The frame was stripped of all components and had new grease & bearings in the headset and bottom bracket on rebuild.All other components were checked and serviced as required.
The original colour scheme was in the 1980's blue & white,but I decided the champagne colour scheme was much more preferable.The paintwork has a lovely finish,a good shine and really does present very nicely.
It rides very nicely as well,free from rattles or knocks,the gears change nicely and brakes work well.
A lovely,striking classic steel racing bike in excellent order and ready for new adventures and travels.Perfect for an Eroica event or just to take out for a change from the modern?
